Colin is an experienced and talented arranger & orchestrator.   He is particularly skilled in creative and atmospheric vocal arranging and full and dynamic sounding orchestral reductions, mostly of musicals and opera.

In addition to countless vocal and orchestral arrangements for various concerts and recordings, here are some recent arranging & orchestration projects ;

Christmas with the Salvation Army - at the Royal Albert Hall

Over the three years that Colin has been associated with this concert he has arranged and orchestrated a wide variety of material for diverse ensembles including an orchestration of "Ain't It Good" from Children of Eden, for brass band, two choirs, rhythm section, string quartet, oboe, horn and principal singers.

Godspell - number one UK tour

Colin was commissioned to create new orchestrations and arrangements for the recent number one UK tour of this show.  The new instrumental line up was piano, guitar(s) doubling keyboard, drums/percussion, bass guitar and a trebling woodwind player.

A Christmas Carol - new musical

Colin worked with composer Piers Chater Robinson to work on his new musical version of Dickens' classic tale.  Working with Piers' original melodies Colin carried out all the piano/vocal arranging for the show, and the orchestrations, including a symphonic version which was subsequently recorded for backing tracks.  You can find out more about the show here.

The Wizard of Oz - Leicester Haymarket Theatre

Colin was commissioned to reduce the original Royal Shakespeare Company orchestration for 24 players down to a line up of 5 musicians for the final production at Leicester's Haymarket Theatre.

Brenda Bly Teen Detective • No-One In The World • RSVP ASAP

Prolific British musical theatre composer Charles Miller asked Colin to provide orchestrations for 3 of his new musicals.  No-One In The World has been published by Adrian Jeckells, and Brenda Bly Teen Detective received its world premiere at the Bridewell Theatre in London & has subsequently been published by Samuel French.

Now That's What I Call Showtunes

Colin has provided orchestrations and arrangements for Big Little Theatre School's annual showcase production for many years.  Arranging musical theatre classics for this vibrant young company and providing orchestral reductions for the shows 10 piece professional band.
